Galvanised mild steel grates & frames, all of which are bike safe and bolt down grates & frames. They are available in light duty, medium duty and heavy duty.

Areas accessible strictly by pedestrians.
Not suited to vehicles.
Purpose - residential backyards
Walkways not accessible by vehicles
CLASS B
Private and shared residential property. Suitable
for vehicles accessing driveways and footways.
Low speed only.
Purpose - residential driveways.
Unit sites. Parklands. Residential car parks.
CLASS C
Minor roads and car parks trafficable to vehicles.
Purpose - areas with slow moving traffic and
minor roads

CLASS D
Major roads including freeway and motorway
shoulders.
Warehouses and loading docks.
Purpose - major roads
CLASS E
Freeway and motorway carriageways.
Suitable for all heavy vehicles.
Purpose - freeways and motorways
CLASS F
Docks, wharfs and airport service
and taxiways
Purpose- heavy and high traffic volumes
CLASS G

1. Nominal wheel loads are given for guidance only. Consideration should be given to the type, size and pneumatic tire pressure of the load

applied.

2. Class B design loads exceed AS 5100. 2 requirements for footway loading.

3. Class D design loads exceed AS 5100.2 requirements for a W80 wheel load.

4. Class C units are based on an intermediate load.

5. The serviceability load is set at 2/3 of the ultimate limit state design load.

6. A force of 1kN approximately equal to the weight of 100kg.

Trench Grates & Frames are manufactured in a range of standard sizes and class rated to meet customer requirements. All grates are bolted down to deter unwanted access and to ensure the grate does not work loose or rattle in the frame. The frame comes with flat bar on each side for easy tying into your formwork prior to casting.
The steel grating pattern is bicycle safe with a 76 percent open area providing superior hydraulic capacity. These grates meet all load class requirements to AS3996:2019 and are tagged with manufactures name, load class, grate weight and code number as required by AS3996:2019.
