Size and installation adaptation
Standard size: commonly 1000 × 6000mm, 5850 * 1000mm with a width of 1m is the most common, and the length can be customized.
Installation gap: Reserve about 100mm expansion joint to avoid deformation caused by thermal expansion and contraction.
Fixed method:
Bolt+installation clip: does not damage the galvanized layer, easy to disassemble and maintain, suitable for platforms with frequent maintenance in the later stage.
Welding fixation: more stable, but requires on-site anti-corrosion and repainting, suitable for permanent structures.
Determine the load level based on the usage scenario and select the appropriate flat steel specification:
Lightweight loads (such as pedestrian walkways and stairs): Use flat steel grating with a thickness of 3-4mm and a spacing of 40mm, with a bearing capacity of approximately 3-5 kN/m ².
Medium and heavy loads (such as equipment platforms and forklift passages): It is recommended to have a thickness of 5-6mm and a spacing of 30mm, with a bearing capacity of 7.5 kN/m ² or more, such as model G255/30/100.
If it is a mobile heavy equipment, priority should be given to G325 or G405 specifications to ensure safety.
Chemical rust removal of carbon steel grating
Chemical rust removal, also known as acid pickling rust removal. By utilizing the acid in the pickling solution to react with metal oxides, the metal oxides are dissolved to remove oxides and rust from the steel surface. There are generally two methods of acid washing: ordinary acid washing and comprehensive acid washing. After pickling, steel is easily oxidized by air and must be passivated to improve its rust prevention ability. After pickling, the steel grating should be immediately rinsed with hot water until neutral, and then passivated. After pickling, the steel grating can be immediately washed with water, then neutralized with a 5% sodium carbonate solution, washed with water to remove the alkaline solution, and finally passivated.
